Bringing other people onto your trip

If you are the person who booked, open the trip, choose Manage reservation, then Invite a companion. Add a name and an email address and Kabora sends them an invitation. Up to five people per stay. In the Kabora app, open the trip's people and choose Manage guests; you can also share the link by text from there.

What they get

The email carries a link to the invitation. Signed out, the page names the city and offers Sign in to see it, which brings them straight back. It only opens for the address you invited — a forwarded link says so. The invitation then shows the stay: the place, the city, the dates, who is hosting, with Accept and Decline.

Accepting puts the trip in their own Trips list, with the link to the stay — the address, directions, arrival details and the guidebook.

Open the trip and everyone you invited is under Travel companions — anyone who hasn't answered yet is marked pending. Your companions see only who has joined. Invite a companion lists everyone you invited, marked Invited or Joined, each with a Revoke beside them.

What they can read

Your conversation with the host, including everything already said — and they can write in it too. Treat inviting somebody the way you would adding them to a group chat: they can scroll back. Their name appears in In this conversation in the thread header, so both you and your host can see at a glance who that is.

What they do not get

Changing the booking, cancelling it, and inviting anyone else stay with you, the booker. A companion may still see Manage reservation on their copy of the trip. Changing and cancelling are yours: Kabora refuses those for anyone but you. Message your host does open for them.

Inviting somebody also does not change how many guests the stay is booked for, and it changes no price. The booking still reads the number it was booked for, and your host still sees that number. To change that, use Change reservation instead.

Taking it back

Revoke removes an invitation, before or after it was accepted — and for somebody who had joined, that takes the trip back off their account. There is no separate "declined" state to tidy up: declining simply removes the invitation, and inviting the same person again sends a fresh link.

If the button is not there, or will not take it

• You cannot invite yourself.
• The same email address can only be on the stay once.
• There is no Invite a companion on a stay that has been cancelled, or on one that has already ended. After the check-out date the row is gone.
• There is none on a stay booked on Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com either. Those are marked Booked on Airbnb (or Vrbo, or Booking.com), and date changes, payments and cancellation happen where the booking was made. Messages with your host still work here.
• An invitation to a stay that is cancelled later stops working on its own. Whoever opens the link is told the trip was cancelled.
