What a Listing Page Shows

The Sections of the Page

From top to bottom:

• Name and actions: The listing's name, with a heart to save it and Share, then the town. From a place's third review, the rating out of five and the number of reviews appear as a link to the reviews. Before that, the page says New, with any reviews it has.
• Photos: One large photo with up to four smaller ones, which appear only on screens wider than a phone. Show all N photos opens a full-screen viewer. The arrow keys, the on-screen arrows or a swipe move through it, wrapping from the last photo to the first.
• The space: The name of the unit and its town, followed by guests, bedrooms, beds and baths.
• Rating panel: From the third review, the average, the stars and the count. It reads Guest favorite at 4.8 or better, and Rated by real stays otherwise. Every review comes from a finished stay: one per stay, written after checkout, never for a canceled stay.
• Hosted by: A Message host button opens a short form with your dates, who is coming and your message. Signed out, you sign in first.
• Highlights: Lines such as "Short stays welcome", from this listing's minimum stay, "Highly rated by guests", from its reviews, or "No booking fee". "No booking fee" is not a host setting: Kabora's guest fee is switched off everywhere, so it appears on every listing.
• About this place: The host's own description.
• Where you will sleep: One card for each room the host has described, with its beds, whether it has its own bathroom, and any photos filed under it. Most hosts have not entered rooms yet, so on many listings nothing appears between the description and the amenities.
• What this place offers: The first ten amenities, with the rest behind a button. A listing with no amenities has no such section.
• Safety: Appears when the host has entered anything under it. It covers dangers to know about, where the alarms and extinguisher are, and what to expect. It also lists the outdoor cameras, or states that there are none. Cameras are never allowed inside a place on Kabora. Questions the host has not answered are left out, because a reassuring blank would be a promise nobody made.
• Report this listing: A link on every listing, including those with no Safety section, that opens a short form. The report goes to Kabora staff, not to your host.
• Cancellation policy: The policy in one sentence, with a line marking when the refund changes, counted in days before check-in. For 28 nights or more, it gives the long-term rule instead, which applies from the day you book. On a host's own website, it also states how you pay. Your booking keeps this policy even if the host later changes it.
• Select check-in date: This month and next. Each night for sale shows its price as a whole number, with the currency named once above the grid. Hatched nights are booked, blocked, or closed by the host. Hovering over one displays Booked, Not available, or Not open for a new stay, the last for a night the host's notice rules keep closed.
• Where you will be: A map with a shaded circle, with the place somewhere inside it. A dot on the house appears only if the host chose to show it. The town is below the heading. The street address is not on this page but on your own stay page, the private page you receive for a booking.
• Reviews: The average to two decimal places, the count, and a bar for each star rating. Up to six category scores follow: cleanliness, accuracy, check-in, communication, location and value. They are optional for a reviewer, so only the ones guests answered appear, and a listing can show none. With fewer than three reviews, the section says New instead of an average. The six most recent reviews come first, with the host's reply under any that received one. Show all N reviews opens the rest.
• Things to know: Check-in and checkout times, the guest maximum, the host's house rules, and the shortest and longest stay allowed. It ends with a short note on booking and payment.

The Booking Button

The note at the end of Things to know and the booking panel agree:

• Host reviews requests: The panel displays "This host reviews each request" and a Request booking button.
• Host does not review requests: The button is Reserve, and your dates are confirmed as soon as payment goes through.
• Signed out: The button reads Sign in to book.
• No card on your account: The button reads Add a card to book.

Once you select dates, the panel asks the same question the booking will. Some places accept guests with a clean history automatically; there, a clean record with this host displays Reserve. Dates that start sooner than the host's notice read The host reviews these dates first.

The Section Bar on Large Screens

On a screen about 1024 pixels wide or more, a bar fades in once you scroll past the photos. It pins below the site header, lists Photos, Amenities, Availability, Reviews and Location, and underlines the section you are reading. Phones and upright tablets do not display it.

The Price in the Booking Panel

Before any dates are known, the large number is the cheapest open night in the next 90 days, marked from. It skips booked, blocked and past nights, but not nights closed by the host's notice rules, so it may be a night you cannot arrive on. If no night in that window is open, it falls back to the host's standard rate, still marked from: a rate, not a night anyone can book.

If the link carries dates, as it does when you select a search result after searching with dates, from disappears. The figure becomes that quote's accommodation total divided by its nights, so it cannot disagree with the breakdown below it.

Dates you select in the panel's calendar reprice the breakdown but not the large number, which keeps the from price until the page loads again with those dates.

When the two disagree, read the breakdown. It is the quote you would be charged.
