Safety and problems
Reporting a listing, and what happens next
Where it is
On the listing page, look for a plain underlined Report this listing. It sits part way down — after What this place offers, and after the Safety block when the host has filled that in, and just above If your plans change and the check-in calendar. Don't scroll to the very bottom hunting for it: the reviews, the map and Things to know are all below it.
It stays closed until you press it, and it is on every listing — including ones whose host has declared nothing about cameras. In the Kabora app it is the last thing on the listing.
You have to be signed in, so we can follow it up with you. If you are not, it says so and keeps what you had typed.
The six reasons
- There's a camera inside
- It's not what the photos showed
- It isn't safe or clean
- It's a scam, or the host asked me to pay outside Kabora
- Something in the listing is offensive
- Something else
The first one is already selected when the form opens, so change it if another fits better. Then add detail if you want to — "what you saw, and where". The box is optional on purpose, so somebody frightened can press one thing and be heard.
The form also tells you to call your local emergency number first if you are in danger, and that is right. A report is a queue somebody reads, not an emergency line.
What happens next
It goes to Kabora staff, not to your host. The host is not told a report exists, and nothing on their side names you. Kabora staff do see your name — that is why you have to be signed in.
It lands in one staff queue, newest first, showing the listing, the time, and your reason written out as a sentence a person can read. Somebody marks it resolved once they have dealt with it.
If you report the same listing twice within an hour you get the same thank-you and no error. Staff get one entry either way.
What a report does not do
It is not a conversation. Kabora does not write back about a report, there is no page where you can watch its status, and no refund or cancellation follows from it on its own. If you need an answer, or your money sorted out, use Contact support as well — that one is a case with its own page and a reply.
Reporting a message instead
A bad message is a different thing, and it lives in the conversation rather than on the listing.
- The thread's menu has Report this conversation, on the website and in the Kabora app — up to 2,000 characters in your own words, straight to staff, and the host is not notified.
- A single message has Report this message — hold it in the app, or use its ⋯ on the website. The report is filed against that message.
- Unlike the listing form, both of these need words. They will not send empty.
