Finding Your Messages

Your messages are under Messages on kabora.app. The page opens on the conversation at the top of your list: starred threads first, then the newest. An unread thread stays where its last message places it, and reading it does not move it.

On a computer, the page has three panels: your conversations, the open thread, and the stay the thread is about. On a phone, the same tap opens your list of conversations instead.

How a Thread Starts

• A booking: Booking a place creates the thread for that stay.
• A question: Message host on a listing page opens a short form for your dates, your party and your message. Sending it starts a separate question thread for that home. Pressing it again returns you to that thread rather than starting a second one.

Question and booking threads stay separate on purpose, so an inquiry about next summer stays out of the conversation about this weekend.

Who Can Read a Thread

• The host's side: The business's Admins, plus any co-host or custom-role teammate whose role can message guests. A teammate whose access is limited to certain listings sees only those listings' threads.
• Your side: You, and anyone who has joined the trip. A companion who accepted your invitation can read and write in the thread, and is named in the list. A person invited but not yet joined is not named, because they have no access until they accept.
• Your notes: In the stay panel, a private notepad only you see. Your host has their own private note on the same thread, and you never see it.
• Kabora staff: Not even a report gives them your thread. Report this conversation, in the thread's menu, sends your description and the host and place it concerns, but not the messages. Your host is not told.

Finding and Organizing Threads

• Search: It matches your host's name, the place's name, the city and the stay dates. From two letters, it also matches words anywhere in a thread. One letter starts narrowing the list.
• Search scope: Search covers only the list you are viewing, so archived threads are found under Past conversations.
• Filters: Filter by All, Unread, Starred or Priority. Archived threads are under Past conversations, in the Message settings menu beside the filters.
• Refresh: The page refreshes every 20 seconds while its tab is in front.

Archiving Instead of Deleting

You cannot delete a conversation. Archiving is the only way to put one away. An archived thread leaves the list and no longer counts as unread. Restore it from Past conversations at any time.
