Calendar links from Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com

Kabora is not connected to Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com. What it does is read their calendars through calendar links (iCal), and let them read Kabora's, so a night sold on one is closed on the others.

Open the listing: on its Overview, under Where else it's listed, press Add external iCal, paste the address that site gives you, and press Add feed. The Export calendar card on the same page gives you Kabora's address to paste back into that site, so blocking works in both directions. In the Kabora app, the listing's Settings → Connect calendars does both.

Seeing all of them at once

Settings → Listings → iCalendar lists every calendar link you have, whichever listing it belongs to, with when each one last carried its dates and a Sync beside it. That is the screen to open when you want to know whether anything has stopped working. Adding and removing a link happens on the listing it belongs to — a calendar link is that place's calendar somewhere else, so it lives with the place.

What a link carries

Dates only. A booking on Airbnb arrives as closed nights, labelled with the link's name and the title that site gave them — Kabora records no booking from it. A Kabora booking closes those nights there when that site next reads Kabora's link.

What doesn't

Rates, guest names, message threads, and totals don't travel over a calendar link — no site sends them that way. You'll still price and message on each site itself. Kabora says so on the iCalendar screen too, because a link that quietly claims more than it does is how double work hides.

Nights that came in on one link are not passed on through Kabora's own. If Vrbo should know about an Airbnb booking, Vrbo has to read Airbnb's link, or you funnel them through one link as below.

Saying which site a calendar is

When you paste an address, Kabora reads it and works out the site — an airbnb.com link arrives labelled Airbnb. Beside the nickname there is a Shows as menu carrying each site's logo, so you can change it.

Worth doing if you run your calendars the way most hosts with several properties do: funnelling every site through one Airbnb export, so you maintain one link instead of a dozen. The address says Airbnb, but the nights inside it are Booking.com and Vrbo as well. Kabora cannot tell from the link — you can, and this is where you say so.

Whatever you choose, the mark carries a small calendar corner. That is deliberate: it means "Airbnb, by calendar link", which is all a calendar link is. Kabora does not talk to Airbnb, and an unbadged logo would suggest it does.

How often

Kabora reads each link every 4 hours unless you change it under iCalendar → Sync settings, and Sync beside a link reads it now. Share the nights you block, on the same tab, decides whether nights you close by hand go out on Kabora's link too.
