The private link to your stay

Every stay booked on Kabora, booked direct with the host, or added by your host themselves has its own link. It is long and unguessable. Signed in, the same page is the row called Arrival details and guidebook on your trip.

What anyone with the link sees

How to get there, and not much more:

• The times you can check in and must be out by, photos, what the place has, and the house rules.
• The address. The exact street shows once the stay is booked, or earlier where the host allows it; before that, the town.
• Your host's notes on getting in and parking, once the stay is booked.

What needs you signed in

• The door code and the Wi-Fi are for the people on the booking: you, and anyone who has joined your trip. They appear three days before you arrive, and go when you check out.
• The money is for the person who booked: what you have paid, what has come back, what is still owed and the Pay button, the receipt, and your cancellation terms.

Signed out, the page says what it is holding back and offers Sign in.

A stay your host typed in themselves is the exception: its link opens everything — the door code, the Wi-Fi and the money — to whoever holds it, because the guest may have no account.

Add to calendar is not on this page. The stay is offered as a calendar file that works in Apple, Google, Outlook and the rest, but the only button for it sits in your trip — so you have to be signed in to reach it.

Sharing it

On a stay you booked yourself, anyone holding the link sees how to get there, and not the door code or the money. That makes it safe to send to whoever is picking up the keys — but still not something to post anywhere public, and on a stay your host typed in it shows everything. Signed in, your trip has a Copy button for exactly that.

Keeping it

If you reached the link from an email and have no account, the page offers Keep this trip, with a Sign in to save it button that brings you back to this same stay afterwards.

Sign in with the address the booking was made under — the emailed code is what proves the address is yours — and the stay is in your trips, along with any other booking under that address that nobody has saved already. A different address is refused, and you are told which address the booking is under. A link you can forward must not double as a key to somebody's booking history. A stay already saved to another account stays there.

Stays with no Kabora page

A booking made on another site — Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com or anywhere else — has no stay page here, and neither do nights that reached your host by a calendar link. The address opens to a page that is not found. Your arrival details are wherever you booked, or with your host.
