Calendar & bookings
Add a booking yourself
On the Calendar, choose + Add booking. Three choices:
- Add a Direct booking — Kabora collects payment from the guest by card, on your own Stripe account.
- Add an offline booking — you settle payment with the guest yourself, and Kabora holds the nights.
- Add an owner stay — you are using the place yourself. The nights are held and no money is involved.
Two steps, on purpose
Pick the property, dates, and guest count, then Get current rates. The quote is the same math guest checkout runs — nightly rates with every discount and fee the stay qualifies for — so you see the money before anything exists. Then guest details and Continue create it.
Held nights
If some nights are held by your own block or closed by another site's calendar link, the dialog warns you before you continue. Continuing overrides your own blocks — which can genuinely double-book across systems, so the warning says so. Nights already taken by a confirmed reservation in Kabora always refuse: the database itself won't write an overlap.
Getting paid for an offline booking through Kabora
If the guest hasn't paid you yet, they can pay by card through Kabora. You don't have to switch this on — a booking you added yourself shows its balance and a Pay button on the guest's trip page as soon as there is something to pay.
They don't need an account, either. The link you give them is enough: they can pay straight from that page, and signing in is offered underneath, not required. The money goes to your own Stripe account, like any other booking. Kabora's fee is the one bookings from your own site carry, and only on what the guest pays through Kabora — see "Fees, commissions, and payouts".
If they already paid you, record it — open the booking's Price and payment details and choose Record offline payment. That is what stops Kabora asking them for money they have already handed over: the button asks for the BALANCE, so once you've recorded the cash there is nothing left to pay and no button at all. You're the only one who knows that payment happened, so Kabora waits for you to say so.
Email payment link is still there, inside Price and payment details, and it is a convenience rather than a switch: it emails the guest the amount and their link, so you don't have to dig the link out yourself. Send it as often as you like; the first time stands, and the line says when.
Sending needs the guest's email address on the booking and your payments set up. It isn't offered on a cancelled booking, or once the stay is paid in full.
If the guest paid you in cash or by bank transfer, use Record offline payment instead. Money that never goes through Kabora carries no Kabora fee.
