How You Get Paid

Two kinds of stay reach your calendar, and the money behaves differently for each. Settings → Payments and payouts displays your own figures.

Stays Booked Through Kabora or Booked Direct

You are the merchant, either way. The guest is charged on your own connected Stripe account, whether Kabora's search brought them or you brought them to your own booking site.

Kabora's share is split off at the moment of that charge, and Kabora never holds your money. It waits in your own Stripe balance, and Kabora instructs Stripe to pay each stay's share to your bank the day after the guest checks in.

This is why a stay's payout is less than what the guest paid. Each of the following comes off it, and each is listed on the stay's What you earn card:

• Kabora's share: Split off when the guest is charged.
• Card processing: Stripe's charge for processing the card.
• Refunds: Anything refunded to the guest.

Payout Records

Once a day, when Stripe has paid your bank, Kabora emails a record of those payouts to the business's alert recipients. Each line is Stripe's own amount, day, bank and payout reference, so it matches your Stripe dashboard. Stripe may also email you about the same money.

Deductions From a Later Payout

Kabora has nothing to invoice you for later. Instead, two things can come off a later payout, and the stay's What you earn card states when either happened:

• A refund after payout: See refunds after you have been paid.
• A cancellation fee: When you cancel a stay Kabora found. See fees, commissions, and payouts.

Where the Rates Are Shown

The rates are not written here on purpose. They are shown live on the Settings → Payments and payouts → Fees tab. A rate written in two places can go out of date in one, and people read this article to reconcile a bank statement.

Stays Entered by Hand or Closed by a Calendar Link

Kabora takes nothing from these, and cannot see or change their terms:

• Stays you entered: Paid for outside Kabora, however you agreed with the guest.
• Calendar link nights: Nights another site's calendar link closed. The guest paid that site on its own terms and timetable.

If the guest of a stay you entered pays through Kabora, that payment carries the direct rate.

None of this is a setting. Kabora cannot change when another site pays you, and another company's fee schedule printed here could easily be wrong a year from now.
