How you get paid

Two kinds of stay reach your calendar, and the money behaves differently for each. This is the map; Settings → Payments and payouts is the territory.

Booked through Kabora, or booked direct

You are the merchant, either way. The guest is charged on your own connected Stripe account — for a booking Kabora's search brought you and for a guest you brought to your own booking site alike — and Kabora's share is split off at the moment of that charge. Kabora never holds your money: it waits in your own Stripe balance, and Kabora tells Stripe to pay each stay's share to your bank the day after the guest checks in.

Kabora never deducts anything from a payout afterwards, and there is nothing for us to invoice you for later. A refund made after you were paid is different — see "A refund after you've been paid".

The rates are not written here on purpose. They are set in one place and shown live where they apply — your Settings → Payments and payouts → Fees tab. A rate quoted twice is a rate that goes stale in one of the two places, and this is the article somebody reads while reconciling a bank statement.

Typed in by hand, or closed by a calendar link

A stay you typed in and were paid for outside Kabora, or nights another site's calendar link closed, are a record only: Kabora did not process the money, so it takes nothing. The guest paid you however you agreed — or paid that other site, on that site's own terms and schedule, which Kabora cannot see or change. If the guest of a stay you typed in pays through Kabora, that payment carries the direct rate.

Why this is not in your settings

Because none of it is a setting. Kabora cannot change when another site pays you, and printing someone else's fee schedule inside a page you use to reconcile real money is a good way to be confidently wrong about it a year from now.
