Operations

Property owners and their portal

Under Operations, Property Owners is your record of the people whose houses you manage: their name, their email, the management fee you charge them and what it is charged on — the payout before card processing, or what is banked after it (on the second, a free cancellation that kept only fees earns the owner nothing) — and which of your properties are theirs. Attaching a property here is what makes its earnings theirs on a statement.

An owner does not need a login. Plenty never want one — they signed with you so that somebody else would handle it. Everything still works: you run their statements and email them.

Giving them a portal

The form asks Give them a login or No portal. A login needs an email address, because it is the only way an account can exist, and saving sends the invitation. It is good for seven days. Until they accept, the button reads Send again with the days remaining; after seven days the chip turns red and says the invitation expired.

Two ways to take it back:

  • Cancel invitation withdraws the offer and touches nothing else. They still own the house, and your record of them is unchanged. Send another whenever you like.
  • Revoke access applies to an owner who has accepted. They are signed out everywhere immediately, and any outstanding invitation is cancelled. Unrevoke access lets them back in without a new invitation.

Their statements are kept in every case. The record of what somebody was paid is not access.

What they see

Overview, Reservations, and Statements — their properties only. There is no page in the portal that shows another owner's numbers.

The portal is not a separate account. Everyone on Kabora starts as a traveller and becomes a host or an owner later, so an owner uses the same login and the same profile they book trips with, and switches between them from the header.

History

Property Owners → History keeps two logs. Login history lists each time an owner signed in, with their device and when they were last seen. Access changes records every change to who can: invited, expired, cancelled, accepted, revoked, restored, deleted, and the portal switched off or on. Expiries are attributed to a scheduled job, because nobody performs them — seven days simply pass.

Removing an owner

Delete sits at the foot of the Edit form, not among the access buttons, because it is a different decision. It deletes your record of them: their properties detach and are free to reassign, and their statements are kept under their name but can no longer be regenerated or emailed. Their Kabora account, if they have one, is untouched — a Kabora account can only be deleted by the person who owns it.
