Message rules and scheduled messages
Two pages that are easy to mix up, so it is worth saying plainly which is which.
Message rules is the rule itself — write it once and it applies to every stay booked through Kabora or added by you, whenever the guest has an email address. Scheduled messages is what those rules produced: individual sends, each with its own time and status, for real bookings. Edit a rule and it re-times everything that has not gone yet; edit one scheduled message and only that one changes.
Under Automation → Message rules, rules send the right message at the right moment: booking confirmation, check-in details the day before arrival, a settling-in check, checkout reminders, review requests — and weekly rules like a trash-night reminder that fire on matching weekdays of a stay.
What no rule can reach
Nights that come in by calendar link from another booking site. A calendar link brings dates, not a guest, so there is nobody to write to. If you have calendar links, the top of every Automation screen says so — and when some of those nights are coming up, it counts them beside the stays your rules do reach.
Shortcodes
Write templates with shortcodes — [guest first name], [property name], [check-in date], [door code], [Wi-Fi password] and dozens more. Press one in the editor and it drops into your sentence in those words; each fills from the booking and the property at send time. You can define your own shortcodes too, for lines you reuse everywhere — a code named trash_day reads [trash day] in a message.
The queue
Every scheduled send is visible before it happens, rendered exactly as it will read. Edit one and your edit survives; skip one and it stays skipped. Messages for a cancelled stay cancel themselves. Muting a property only takes it out of search; its guests still get their messages.
