A deposit now and the rest later: payment schedules

Under a listing → Payments → Payment schedules.

Everything at booking is the default. On bookings made on your own site you can split the total into up to three parts: the first, at least 25%, is paid at booking, the last a week before check-in, and a middle one halfway between. Bookings Kabora's search brought you are paid in full, and any stay of 28 nights or more is paid a month at a time instead.

What the guest sees

The checkout says both figures and both dates before they press Reserve, the confirmation repeats them, and their trip page lists the parts under *Payment schedule* — *Part 1 of 2 · Paid*, *Part 2 of 2 · Coming* with its date — beside the card kept for the rest, which they can change from there. A part that has come due is charged to that card without asking again, and the thread on your side says so.

When a card fails

The card is tried again three days later and seven days later, and the guest can pay the part from their trip page or change the card in between; the thread tells you each time, and the bell rings on the first refusal and on the last. If the third try fails too, Kabora cancels the stay: the guest gets back what your cancellation policy returns for that day, less the platform fee and card processing that are never returned, the nights go back on sale, and both of you are told — the guest by email and on their trip page, you by the bell and in the thread.

A stay that changes shape

Add a night or a guest after booking and the parts still to come are re-planned to the new total; take one away and the difference goes back the way the guest paid.
