What Kabora Costs

Smart Locks

Smart locks pass on the supplier's cost: a lock you connect through Settings → Connected integrations costs $5 a month. Stripe bills it to a card you add for your locks, apart from every booking. You see the price before you connect.

Stripe bills by the day for a lock added or removed mid-month, and removing a lock stops its charge. If the card fails and Stripe cannot charge it after its last attempt, codes already on your doors keep working. No new codes are set until the invoice is paid.

How Kabora Earns Its Fee

Kabora takes a share of the bookings it processes payment for, only after the guest has paid, at a rate set by where the money came from:

• A guest who found you on Kabora: One rate.
• A guest you brought yourself: A lower rate, for a booking on your own site, or a stay you entered and the guest paid through Kabora.
• Money through Kabora that is not a booking: The lowest rate, for what a guest sends you, a deposit you keep for damage, and crew and owner pay.

A stay paid to you outside Kabora costs nothing, and so does a night a calendar link blocked. Kabora did not take that money. A stay keeps the rate it was booked at, so a new rate reaches only a new stay.

One further charge exists, only if you cause it: canceling a stay Kabora found incurs a cancellation fee, taken from your next bookings paid through Kabora. What no booking has taken within 30 days, Kabora charges to the card you saved for its bills (Payments and payouts, Fees), or emails you as an invoice if you have not saved one.

Where the Fee Comes From

The fee comes from your payout, splitting away as Stripe takes the guest's payment. It therefore never sits in your balance, you are never billed for it, and nothing is taken unless you have earned it. It never applies to lodging tax. Kabora's only bills are the two above: a smart lock, and a cancellation fee no booking has covered.

When a stay is refunded, in part or in full, the fee already taken stays taken — Kabora keeps every fee it collected, whoever canceled and whatever the reason. Nothing new is charged on the refund itself.

There is no billing page of its own. Your legal name and tax details are under Payments and payouts → Legal details, and the card for Kabora's bills is on the Fees tab.
