Promo codes
Under Direct bookings → Promo codes. Codes work on your own booking site — the other sites you list on run their own promotions and will not honour yours.
Each code carries:
- A kind and amount — a percentage off, or a fixed sum.
- A minimum nights threshold, so a code meant for a week is not spent on a Tuesday.
- Works from and works until days, both optional: the days a guest can use the code when booking.
- A maximum uses count, with used-so-far kept beside it.
- An active switch, so a code can be paused without being deleted and losing its history.
How a guest uses one. On your own site, under the price of a stay, there is a line that says *Have a promo code?* It only appears while you have a code switched on. The guest types the code, presses Apply, and the price re-draws with the discount on it. A code that cannot be used says why: it has ended, the stay is too short, or it has run out.
A code never adds to another discount. If the stay already earns a better one from you, such as a monthly discount, the guest keeps the better price and the code is not used. The page tells them so.
A use is counted when the stay is paid, not when it is booked. A booking that is never paid does not use up a code with a limit.
If the guest changes their dates later, the same code stays on the new price, even if you have paused or deleted it since.
A code that has expired or run out stops working on its own. Switching it off rather than deleting it keeps the record of what it did, which is what you want the next time you plan a promotion.
