Scheduled Messages, Shortcodes, and Message Rules

Message rules are written under Automation → Message rules and watched under Scheduled messages.

Message Rules

A rule is a message and a moment, such as the moment it is booked, three days before arrival at 4 PM, or an hour after checkout. It goes to every stay reaching that moment, booked on Kabora, on your own site, or by you.

It cannot reach nights another site's calendar link closed, which bring no guest to message; the top of the screen counts the stays a rule reaches and those it cannot.

Late Bookings

When a booking arrives after a message's moment has passed:

• Saved message: Schedule it under Automation → Saved messages with Send for last-minute bookings and short stays selected, and it sends immediately. The bell and an email tell you which were sent.
• Message rule: No such setting; the booking skips that message.

Shortcodes

A shortcode is a placeholder in words, such as [guest first name], [property name], [check-in date], [door code] or [guidebook link]. Kabora fills it in from the stay when the message sends. Automation → Shortcodes lists them all and lets you add your own. Preview message fills a rule in from a sample booking. Shortcodes are spelled the same on every screen, including the review rules.

The Scheduled Messages Page

Every queued message is listed with when it sends and to whom. A teammate can skip one or undo a skip; the stay's activity records who. In the conversation, Send now places the message's text in your message box to send yourself.

A canceled stay's messages are marked skipped as soon as you cancel it, or within the hour when it ends another way, with a note that says why. They are never left scheduled.
