Scheduled messages, shortcodes and message rules

Automation → Message rules is where they are written; Scheduled messages is where you watch them go.

A rule

A rule is a message and a moment: *the day after booking*, *three days before arrival at 4 PM*, *an hour after checkout*. It goes to every stay that reaches that moment — booked on Kabora, on your own site, or typed in by you. It cannot reach nights another site's calendar link closed, because a calendar link brings no guest to message; the top of the screen says how many stays it reaches and how many it cannot.

Shortcodes

A blank written in words — *[guest first name]*, *[property name]*, *[check-in date]*, *[door code]*, *[guidebook link]* — is filled from the stay when the message sends. Automation → Shortcodes lists every one and lets you add your own; Preview message on a rule shows it filled for a real stay. They are one spelling on every screen, the review rules' included.

Scheduled messages

Every queued send, with when and to whom. A teammate can pause one or skip it, and the stay's activity says who did; in the conversation, Send now puts its words in your box to send yourself. A message whose moment has passed for a stay that was cancelled is skipped and says so, rather than reading *scheduled* for ever.
