The inbox, on both sides

Messages is three panels: your conversations on the left, the open thread in the middle, and the reservation it concerns as a deck of cards on the right. Travelers see it at Messages; hosts see the same layout in the dashboard — deliberately identical, so an operator reading their screen is reading the guest's.

Finding things

• Search hides behind the magnifying glass by the Messages title. Click it, type, and the list filters as you go — names, the place, stay dates, and, from two letters, words anywhere in a conversation.
• The chips above the list narrow it. Both sides carry All, Unread, Starred and Past conversations — the last is a drawer rather than a narrower view, so a filed thread is in exactly one place. A host has Trip stage, Listings and Teammates as well, and Support and Crew — the jobs your cleaners and crews are working — sit beside the chips as lists of their own.
• The list keeps your scroll position when you open a thread, and a "Draft ·" mark shows on any conversation where you left a message half-written.

Staying current

The inbox refreshes itself every 20 seconds while the tab is visible. A "New" line appears above the first message you hadn't seen when you open a thread, and stays put while you read.
