Add a booking box to your own website

If you already have a website you like, you do not have to move it to take bookings through Kabora. Paste a few lines onto the page about a place and a live booking box appears on it: your guest picks dates, sees the real price for those nights, and presses through to finish.

Getting the code

1. Go to Direct bookings → Website and open your site. 2. On Listings, tick the places this site covers, and press Save listings. 3. Open the Add to your site tab. Every place you ticked has its own block of code. 4. Press the copy button beside one, and paste it into your page where you want the box to appear.

One box shows one place, so paste the matching one onto each property's page.

What the guest sees

The nightly price, a date picker that greys out nights you are not selling, and a total once they have picked. Pressing Continue to book takes them out of the box and onto the full page for that stay — on your own domain if you have connected one, otherwise on Kabora.

The box never asks a guest to sign in, and never shows a saved card. Payment, refunds and your cancellation terms all happen on the page it opens, which is why they stay the same as every other booking you take.

Making it look like your site

Two things follow your site rather than ours.

The booking button takes the Accent colour set on the site's Styling tab, and the words on it are chosen to stay readable against whatever colour you pick — a pale one gets dark lettering rather than white.

The light or dark look normally follows the guest's own phone or computer. If your website is always one or the other, pin it on the Add to your site tab before you copy the code — a light box on a dark page reads as a hole in it.

If the box looks cut off

The box measures itself and tells your page how tall it needs to be, which is what the small piece of code below the box is doing. Some website builders strip that out. If yours does, find the height number in the first part and raise it until nothing is hidden.

If the box is blank

Two things do this. Your site is still a draft — give it an address and press Mark ready on the Website list. Or the place is not ticked on the Listings tab of that site, in which case the box has nothing to show.
